Teachers are amazing people. In very little time and with little to no training they are transitioning to online learning. Are they questioning how they are going to teach things like Algebra II completely online? Yes. Are they getting it done? Also yes.
Here are some tips to make your switch easier:
Recorded Lectures:
- ScreenCastify is a Google extension that allows you to record your screen and sound. The video saves to your Google drive or you can send it straight to your Google Classroom. If you use the coupon code CAST-COVID; you can get their premium subscription for free through April 21st.
- If you are on a computer that is running Microsoft 10, hit the windows button + g. This opens your Gamer Bar. You can record your screen without downloading an extra extension.
Video Lessons with Comprehension Questions:
- Try out EdPuzzle. It lets you create interactive lessons. Use your own created videos or use YouTube. As the video plays, it will pause and the questions you created show on the screen.
- Google Forms – Google Forms allows you to drop video clips straight into the form. Have your class watch the clip then answer the accompanying lesson
